Bath preparation 
The platinum P SaltTM aqueous slurry containing 50 g platinum is added to a solution of 1200 g disodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate and 180 g diammonium hydrogen phosphate in 9 litres of demineralised water.

This catalyst is a low concentration solution of platinum as Karstedt in 500 cSt vinyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane. It is used for the addition curing cross-linking reaction between Si-vinyl and Si-H groups.

Karstedt catalyst promotes a quick, low temperature curing in the formation of silicone elastomers. Johnson Matthey can provide formulations to meet specific requirements for activity, stability and viscosity.

Benefits
This acidic plating concentrate has been developed to produce bright, heavy and coherent platinum deposits which are totally pore free at a thickness of 0.6µm - 25µm.

Application
Dilute to a platinum content of 5 g/l with demineralised water for general use. Where a higher platinum concentration is required, the appropriate quantity of Pt DNS solution should be added.

Replenishment
The platinum content of the bath should not be allowed to fall below 4 g/l, and...
